A name that should never be.

When I got home tonight I decided to watch an episode of ER on Hulu.com. http://www.hulu.com/watch/44307/er-heal-thyself

The lead character talks about how when people loose there parents they are called orphans. When you loose a spouse you are called a widower. When you loose a battle: a survivor. But there is no name for you if you loose a child. I think that is name that should never be.

When very very bad things like this happen, you can not have a name for it. That name would mean that this has happened enough times to actually want to create a name for the action. Loosing a child is very trying and hard time for any parent. Couple this with wondering as to why the parent survived, and why didn't they protect there kids. With the grief that someone so promising was cut so short. Parents are forced to see the friends of their children grown and always wonder what their child would have grown to be. This does not only effect those who lost young children. Any parent should not have to outlive their child. Not at 5 years, 20 years or 60 years.

Maybe we should have a name for these people; a name we can whisper to our neighbor during a party. "Oh there goes Jane, she is a so-and-so." "Oh really, I will make sure not to talk about my little Bobby." Blah Blah Blah.

Nah, screw that. Having that name would only make the Parent have to live with pain over and over again. They should embrace the child they had, they should cherish the time they had with the child, they should relish in the fact that they had the pleasure to come to know the child. Finally, I have found a word for them...Proud.

For Queen and Country

Bond, James Bond. Yes that is right Mr Bond is back. I went and caught the flick right after work today. I am a lolly tech writer and hate paying the full price and have to go check out the movies during matinee times. Bond did not fail to impress and show all the bond features that we have come to know and love. The movie starts out with a car chase and only keeps speeding to the end. Daniel Craig followed in the footsteps of Pierce Brosnan's portrayal of the world class spy. He at no time in the movie looses his drive and focus on the end game. Judy Dench revives her role as M and does a great job. However it is hard to see the Head of MI6 traveling all around the world after a "rouge" agent; even if it is Bond.

The tech in the movie is not all that farfetched then the current toys. Just upgrades on the Cell phones, and all the cool touch screen computing systems are great. The rest of the tech in the movie you could pick up at the local mall.

What I was most impressed with in the movie was the choices of clothing for Bond. Over the last 5 or 6 movies Bond has become more and more casual in his atire, and in this movie he is back in fitted suits with windsor tied knots. I love the dressed look of Bond.

Anyways the movie is classic bond with a couple of bond girls and death for queen and country. Grab a martini and head to the theaters to catch this new flick with all the things we love.

Just if you are out at the theater hit the people arround you that choose to talk all the way threw the movie. Why the hell should I silence my cell phone when the jibber jawing about how someone wants an Aston Martin, and a Trip to Itally, etc. I forked over my money and would love to see that movie. The theaters should bring back the ushers to silence people that are talking to loud, or have movies times for talkers and eaters so that the rest of us can enjoy our movies. Maybe I am just a cinical person because they were not talking to me, but I wanted to enjoy the movie so I would have been a bad conversationist anyways. I would not even mind if I could bring in my skullcandy's and plug into the audio system to drown other inconsiderate people out.

Sorry for the rant at the end, and if you want to go see the movie LMK I will go see it again.

I have been a lazy person.

I have not posted or really tried to post to my blog mainly because I really didn't have a focus or idea for this blog. Well I can say that I finally have an idea for this blog, and that is ME. With personal branding the next big thing on the web and web celebs popping up all the time, my time to start promoting myself is now. I will use this place to help me get my ideas out to people that I can not impact on a face to face style by using the all powerful intraweb to blast ideas in a more open and "anonymous" place.

The first thing that I really want to say today is...

Running for public offices. We as a society should start making the candidates responsible for the actions of their campaigns. Today exactly 1 week after the general elections of 2008 I was out traveling the great state of Texas on my day off (THANKS TO THE VETS) an noticed that there are numerous sign for Mccain and other candidates in the 2008 election still around town. I know that you want to show your disgust for the outcome of the elections, but when I am driving on road, and the sign for some Judge candidate is still up a field with one of the sides holding the sign up blown over...Now we are just getting into littering. Maybe this is a sign, I am personally glad that a candidate did not get elected as our representative to the judicial system who can not even keep from littering. These campaign groups should be ticketed for each sign that they left posted.

It really reminds me of a house party that you or your friend hosts. The next day most of the people are gone and the place is a wreck. I decided to host the party so I (and maybe a really good friend) have to clean up all the empty cans, trash and anything else that showed up during the party ; Lampshades, Beer Pong tables, underwear in the dear antlers, whatever. Well the election party is over, start picking up your trash. I did not host this little soiree, so why should I or any of my friends have to pick up after you. If I wanted to run around all day picking up after people, I would have a couple of little people (children) of my own to keep me busy.

Maybe we should make cleanup the little side bet to the election process. If you win great get to work, if you lose then you have nothing to do so get to cleaning up the campaign trash. Look its a win/win. Both sides are gainfully employed, some just longer then others. The real winner is the economy ;) jk

Two weeks from work,,,but not really...

Well I am headed home after spending a week in Chicago and a week in Pennsylvania. I am glad to be heading home but I am not sure If I want to go back to work. These two weeks of checking emails and remoteing into my office computer are all for not. Upon returning to work they said that I was 7.5 hours short of vacation time, and that because I was not sick I could not use any if my sick time. Keep in mind that in 9 months of working for them I have not called in sick to work once. Now that I am one day of no pay I have to work longer over the next week to make up the hours I "missed."

Chocolate at 30,000 ft...

Well here I am crushing at thirty thousand feet on my way to Chicago. Just finishing Tim Ferriss's book the 4 hour work week. I am now kicked back and pondering the information I absorbed. Going into this trip I was really worried that all hell was going to break loose while I am gone. While I am away in Chicago for a paintball tournament then off to Pennsylvania to celebrate my grandmothers 90 illustrious years. My job and my responsibilities would go to the ways side. I am trying to finish a help file for a piece of government software, planning a meeting for the company in a location I no little about and all without my laptop. Now I know that this will be a trial by fire for Tims idea of mobility. For the next ten days I am going to try my best to do things according to Tim's rules. I am currently in day 5 of the two week media blackout and really it doesn't bother me to much. I have noticed that I enjoy my hour of video entertainment a lot more using the on demand videos from hulu and NBC etc. I am not completely without technology I do have my trusty Iphone. I am now using it to keep in touch. I am checking emails but only twice a day. I have removed my work email from the settings and contemplating taking off my gmail account also, but let's not get crazy quite yet. I may not make it. I am already feeling helpless without a laptop, to the extent that I may buy a macbook air during this trip if I think I will have the disposable income for it.

But even with all these doubts about the trip and my ability to slow down, I have already noticed a calm from just siting here and thinking about his ideas eating my mini chocolate bar from ail lunch. Starring out the window wondering where the sky ends and the earth begins.

I have hit that magic 6 month plateau that I hit almost every time I start another job. This one I stretch into a 9month hitch but that was because I was pulling my self. Putting more and more static into my day until my whole day was static. Just w4w sake. Now i realize that all my goals need to change. I am actually going to see if I can create a dreamline that I will aspire to fulfill.

This is going to be great in a very scary way. So keep tuned. I actually think this may be the best chocolate bar I have ever ate. And dreams are easy to find if you look down on the clouds, not hoping to reach them.

Life in Stupidity....

This is amazing. I went to pay my full amount and the cashier would not take it. I had to wait for a payment specialist filling out my financial history with the cash sitting in my pocket. They need the probation paperwork and all the crap but the wait time was like 1+ hours and it was unbelievable. Why can I not come in and go directly to the cashier pay the total amount and move on. The entire system should be networked to the extent that once I leave the court I can log into the site and electronically pay the court costs. Then if payments are needed you can talk to a specialist about payment arrangements. Any cash bond would automatically be credited to the balance and the need for another hearing would not be needed. Also reducing the docket.

So in summation. Don't take the breathilizer and old give blood if the judge mandates it. Always try for the ALR hearing it will make your insurance hustles easier. 12 + hours in jail without any food.

When you go to the collections people Make sure to have your probation application because they do not have the terms of your paperwork in the collections department.

Man I need to find a way to make a bid for a more efficient court and courtroom and system. Along with the collections system. Digital signage and the like.

Wow the time I spent waiting was the worst part of the day. Arrive at 930 am wait until 1130 to actually speak to the judge. The wait in collections to pay my court fines 201 and still waiting. Who knows how long to probation office. Now I will have to work on Saturday just so that I will not have to use any vacation time.

Probation what can I say. I report after getting out of court and thy tell me to come back at 10 the next day for orientation. Okay, that is reasonable. Then they give me a 15 synapses of he rules of probation. Not that informative. Then they say to reread the rules to familiarize myself with them. Wow a complete real waste of my time. Then for the next 10 minuets I sit and listen to the two officers complain about how every Thursday the managers are out of the office. Then the officer starts looking at the paperwork for one person and realize that it is not all correct and takes off to get the correct paperwork. He could have put that file aside to finish the others and then come back to the incomplete files. All this just to get a booklet telling me when to come back. I really need to get my PO's email to start emendating him or her with emails for the travel needs for Chicago, Pittsburg, and Orlando for sure. Well when this is done then I get to find out about community service.

Well I got pulled over for Driving after the sauce...

I have had a hell of a time, thanks to San Antonio's finest.  Well I have decided to post some thoughts on the whole affair to date, some for education as to what to do if pulled over or when you have had the pinch put on.  Mostly I am going to rant, yes thats right rant, about the lack of planning and efficiency of the judicial system in Bexar County.  There are more than a few things that are just making me crazy about the whole process. Well more on that to come....

I am heading to Chicago to play some paintball and hope that people who are interested will jump to that blog and follow the mayhem as I try a new medium to build my favorite pass time now that drinking is out for two years.

well thats all for now, I just wanted to post a little blurb to say that I am still around and plan to make this blog fun and exciting.

Peace
